Marble Stain Removal Ma
ByThe first step in removing a stain from marble is to determine the cause of the stain.
The most common stain on marble are Oil Stains which are caused by grease, butter, salad dressing, cooking oils or some times, plumbers puddy.
Organic stains cause by foods, coffee, wine, flowers and tobacco.
These types of stains can be removed from marble using a process called poulticing. This process works by extracting the coloring minerals from within the stone by absorption.
To remove a stain from marble, mix a very absorbent powder with a appropriated cleaning liquid and cover the stain with the mix. Next place plastic over the mix and tape it to the surface with blue tape. Wait 24 hours and remove the plastic leaving the paste on for another 24 hours. After 24 hours the paste should be dried hard, with a plastic or soft scraper, scrape off the dry paste and clean the surface ( do not discard dry mix) inspect to see if stain has been removed. If not and there was some success in the removal, repeat process by remixing the dry paste with the cleaning solution until stain has been removed completely.

Hello how can we remove a sharpie color Red from our tile.marble tile. thanks.
Thank you for your question.
To remove a stain from a marble surface, you must use a process of extraction.
If the marker is solvent based you may try a very absorbent powder such as talc powder or baby white powder and mix with acetone (the one found in the paint section at a hardware store)to a thick paste. Apply the paste to cover the stain and overlap. Cover the paste with a piece of plastic and using blue masking tape, tape all the edges to the marble surface.
Let stand for 24hrs. After 24hrs, remove the plastic and leave the paste in place.
Let the paste stand for at least 24hrs or until it is completely dried.
After about 24hrs, remove the paste and inspect to see if it made any difference. By this time the stain should be gone. If not, but the process made a difference, try all the above steps again.
Final step is to properly clean the entire marble floor and seal it.
Good Luck
